Double bass meets saxophone - sometimes energetic and rhythmic, sometimes delicate and filigree, always surprising and fresh.
Hanns Höhn (double bass) and Thomas Bethmann (saxophone) present their current programme, consisting of arrangements of pop and jazz tunes that have never been heard before in this form. The thoroughbred musicians demonstrate with virtuosity the possibilities that lie in the dialogue between these two fantastic instruments.
Höhn and Bethmann got to know each other as students in Frankfurt and initially played together in various larger ensembles until they founded Wood Vibrations in 2015. The declared aim was to form an ensemble that, despite its minimalist line-up, would never leave the listener without a percussion or harmony instrument. In addition, they wanted to be mobile so that they could make music anywhere and flexibly. An exciting and entertaining mix.
It grooves, it sounds, it vibrates thanks to wood - "Wood Vibrations"!
